The Virginia Society of Ornithology, of which the Cape Henry Audubon Society is a chapter, sponsors a Rare Bird Alert. It is named VA-Bird and operates as a listserve, sending subscribers an email when a sighting is reported by an observer of an unusual bird in Virginia. To subscribe to the listserve and receive the emails, go to http://mailman.listserve.com/listmanager/listinfo/va-bird and fill out the form and submit it. After the submission, you will receive a confirmation email containing useful information including how you can submit your sightings to va-bird. If you have any questions, feel free to email Bob Ake at rake@cox.net.
